Michelle Tait, with Heather Hopkinson will contest the Regional Ladies Pairs semi-finals on this Sunday the 28th of January. The venue is Sebastopol with a starting time of 10 am. They will play Elizabeth Kierce (no sister jokes here !!) and Sally McCracken. If Michelle and Heather win this semi-final, they will play the final at 1 pm (same venue). If you are not involved with the Mickey Mason tournament, give serious consideration to going along to support Michelle…… Once again we are indebted to Michelle for representing BMS again at such a high level. Congratulations Taita for getting to the semi-final and the best of great bowling to you on Sunday.
Ivan Annear and John Walker will represent the State of Victoria at the Deaf Games which are held over 6 days starting the 14th January. They will compete in Singles, Pairs and Fours. It is Johns first involvement in the Bowls section of the tournament. Ivan is an old hand – he has won 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal from previous Deaf Games. Again our club is proud of members who are involved in activities outside of our Pennant season. All the best of bowling to you both – if luck has any bearing on your results, may you get your fair share of it. Thanks for flying the BMS flag so high. VICTORIAN REGION SIDES COMPETITION – BALLARAT – BMS PARTICIPATION.
Our region (BHBR) had Ladies and Men’s sides competing……….. BMS were represented by Michelle Tait and Ryan Bedggood. Dave Berry was an emergency for the Men’s side. Congratulations to these 3 bowlers for being selected……. Both the regions Men’s and Ladies sides were in the SILVER section of the draw…….. The Men’s team missed out on the final because they drew their first game……. The Ladies side qualified for the final and went ahead and won it. They therefore are promoted to the GOLD section next year.
