BALLARAT COURIER PUBLISHED TEAMS.

The ‘Courier requires teams to be sent to them early – at a time when sides are not necessarily finalized. The final teams can be changed after the Courier deadline. It’s probably best not to use the Courier’s posted teams as “gospel”…………… I will endeavor to make the teams on this website as up to date as I possibly can. No matter where you get your information from – this website, our facebook site or from Secretary Anthony’s emails – for SATURDAY PENNANT any teams posted before Thursday evening are definitely subject to change.

PENNANT TEAMS.

The teams for Pennant are posted on this website under “PENNANT BOWLS”. Expect teams to be posted Thursday evening / Friday morning………..Both selection committees endeavor to advise any changes as soon as they occur. Hopefully, what is provided on the website reflects the most current version of all sides.

BHBR MIXED PAIRS TOURNAMENT – 1ST DAY SUNDAY 8TH OCTOBER.

There were three BMS Mixed Pairs in this tournament – Julia and Mick Storey, Judy Lindsay and Rob Dickinson, as well as Michelle Tait and Travis Preston. Round 1 was played in the morning with all three pairings winning. In the afternoon, both Judy and Rob as well as Michelle and Travis won their 2nd rounds. They therefore go on to contest the quarter finals – making up the last 8 pairings still with a chance of winning. Well done to all six of our club bowlers ………..The tournament continues in the morning of Sunday 15th October – at BMS. Good luck to the two of our pairs that are still “alive”.

“NEW” MEMBERS FOR BMS.

Our “trade period” post last seasons end has turned out to be very beneficial. We have 10 “new” bowlers. Being the first time they will grace our bowls uniform are Rob Daniels, David Missen, Jenny Meade, Josh Walker, Bob Widdison and Craig Meade. We also have 4 “boomerangs” – bowlers we had the pleasure of in the past who have seen the light and decided where home really is. We welcome back Andrew (Ned) Bedggood, Scott McLean, Darren Millar and Life Member Ross Jones. For all 10, may the season be a wonderful start for a long bowling life at BMS. We thank you for the choice you have made.

SATURDAY PENNANT.

Games start with a roll-up at 1 pm with the fair dinkum stuff starting at 1.15 pm. All rinks can take a 20 minute break at (or as soon after as possible) 2.45 pm. I understand that, for all of our home games, we will be taking the 20 minute break as a sit down afternoon tea in our club rooms. ……….The rule for the 20 minute break is that if one team wants it, then it has to be. Team Managers will oversee this rule.

TUESDAY PENNANT.

For Tuesday Pennant, all games roll-ups start at 10 am. “Lunch” break is scheduled for 20 minutes starting at 11.45 am. Expect the games to finish about 2 pm.
