Weekend Pennant Report 4th December.

The club has had a slow start to the season but 3 divisions got up yesterday so we are heading in the right direction. A blustery day but rain free made for some tough conditions.

Premiers lost away to to Webbcona 53-57 2 points.

Premiers have lost two games by five or less which is really hurting with only a single win this season. Webbconna have picked up some useful players over the off season and were always going to put up a tough test on their home deck. Phil Clamp the birthday boy’s rink had a great first half of the game five up at the break but afterwards couldn’t buy a trick chipping the kitty to the opposition on several occasions and only won the two last ends after tea. Ryan Bedgood and his rink also had one of those days and on the last end held four shots before the opposition skip ripped out three of them with his last two bowls , Junior still had a chance with his last bowl to trail the kitty back for a three to tie the game but it just slipped by. Mick Storey and his rink backed up last weeks win with another great effort including a superb conversion shot to make a six. This is the first time any rink has won on consecutive weeks which highlights the inconsistency in premiers.

Phil Clamp lost 18-25

Ryan Bedggood lost 13-18

Mick Storey won 22-16

Division Two home against Buninyong won 98-60 16 points.

After a game to forget at Bungaree last week Division Two came back and put a dominant performance on against Buninyong to win by 28 shots. Only one point out of fourth now.

Kevin McLean won 27-11

Mick Hampson won 23-14

David Lindsay won 32-14

Jeff Ryan lost 16-21.

Division Three won away to Webbcona 77-17 12 points.

A great away win for Division Three who only needed the one rink win to get over the line. Remember this is a team that was last year in Division four and were regraded up to the third division at the beginning of this year . They have also lost many of their players to higher divisions as well which highlights how well they have gone.

Tom Kuypers won 24-13

Michelle Tait lost 16-18

Paul Harris lost 20-21

Harry Johannsen lost 17-19

Division Five away to Smeaton lost 53-89 Nil points.

A day to forget at Smeaton with Division Five going down all rinks.

Colin Duffy lost 11-25

Ian Russell lost 11-24

Donald Ross lost 16-17

Mark Taylor lost 15-23

Division Six home to Mt Xavier 93-55 18 points

A commanding win by Division Six who got all rinks up against Mt Xavier. Fifth position and good chance to leap into the top four next week.

Mark Walker won 28-17

Adrian Venville won 24-9

Lawrence Wilson won 26-15

Anthony McCabe won 15-14

Onwards to next week and it looks like we all need a bit more time on the green. Remember Thursday nights practise night with the bbq.
